The Southwest Washington Central Labor Council stands in solidarity with our brothers, sisters and siblings in the Public School Employees of Washington (SEIU Local 1948) and joins them in calling on Evergreen Public Schools to settle a fair contract that provides living wages and a respectful workplace environment.

We are particularly concerned with Evergreen Public Schools’ expectation that classified employees will perform tasks “off the clock,” and state unequivocally that no one in our community should be expected to do unpaid work by their employers.

We call on all working people in the Evergreen school district and throughout our region to stand with these hardworking employees who keep Evergreen schools running and Evergreen students safe.
