Kaiser Workers May Go On Strike Oct. 14th - Here's How You Can Support Them Before That Happens!
Updated On: Oct 06, 2025

As you may have heard, Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals members in Oregon and Southwest Washington have delivered a 10-day strike notice to Kaiser Permanente for a 5-day strike scheduled to start on October 14.

OFNHP represents 5,200 workers in six bargaining units at Kaiser, and the contracts for four of those bargaining units expired on September 30th. These healthcare professionals are fighting to bring Kaiser back to what it once stood for - a value system that puts patients first and works in partnership with caregivers.

There are several things you can do to support these essential workers in our community as they get closer to October 14th:

  1. Join OFNHP's informational picket in Portland on Wednesday, October 8th and demand Kaiser come to the table to avoid a strike!

Show Kaiser you stand in solidarity with these vital workers from 5PM to 7PM at Kaiser Interstate South (3500 N Interstate Ave, Portland, OR 97227 - click here for a map.) Please print out the attached flier, share it with your friends and fellow working people, and encourage them to join the picket as well!

OFNHP will also be holding additional pickets on
  • Tuesday 10/7/25 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Kaiser Westside Hospital (2875 NE Stucki Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97124 - click here for a map)
  • Thursday 10/9/25 from 5PM to 7PM at Kaiser North Lancaster (2400 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR 97305 - click here for a map)

  1. Send a letter to Kaiser CEO Greg Adams telling him to stop the stonewalling in negotiations and bring Kaiser back to the values it was founded on!

Click here to send Mr. Adams a letter, and encourage your friends and fellow workers to do the same!

  2. Share OFNHP's radio ad on your social media pages:

You may have heard the union's ad on your favorite radio station - make sure everyone in your network hears it too!  OFNHP's radio ad is posted on many of the social media platforms you, your friends and family may use - it just takes a minute to hit that share button!
  1. Sign up to receive updates from OFNHP by clicking here.

Please stand with the people who keep our families healthy and safe, and tell Kaiser it's time to put patients first and respect the healthcare professionals who work hard to deliver care to our communities!
