It's Time To Build A Better Board At Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries

On January 26, 2026 a majority of the FVRLibraries Board of Trustees voted to reject a completed strategic plan they commissioned - wasting approximately $400,000 in taxpayer funds and disregarding overwhelming public support for the plan as written.
Public libraries are built on trust, transparency, and access to information. When trustees ignore community input and sideline professional work, that trust is at risk.
We join AFSCME 307L in calling on county councils to remove the trustees responsible, and to work to build a Library board that reflects community values, fiscal responsibility, and intellectual freedom.
Please add your name and support Local 307L's “Build a Better Board” campaign today.
Want to raise your voices and let FVRLibraries Trustees know you're not pleased with their decision? Two protests have been scheduled:
- 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 17th at the Cascade Park Library (600 NE 136th Ave., Vancouver WA 98684 - click here for a map)
- 5:00 PM on Monday, March 16th at the Three Creeks Library (800 NE Tenney Rd., Vancouer WA 98685 - click here for a map)
Please join your fellow workers and community members in reminding the FVRLibraries Board of Trustees that our library system should reflect our community's values, and uphold equity and intellectual freedom.
