On August 5th voters in our region will vote on a “levy lid lift” that will determine what services the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District can deliver to working families in the years ahead.
The FVRL levy provides 96% of the Library District’s operating revenue, so it’s crucial this “lid lift” passes. If it fails libraries across the district could have reduced hours, fewer new books, and approximately 1,500 fewer programs in 2026.
Worst of all, dozens of jobs at the Library District could be eliminated and hours will likely be cut for those library workers who remain.
Find out more about what could be gained if the levy lid lift passes (and what could be lost) at https://www.fvrl.org/levy.
Our regional library system ensures that every working person in Southwest Washington has access to the information they need to be an informed and active citizen, and is a vital part of our community.
The Southwest Washington Central Labor Council urges you to vote YES on the Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries Levy Lid Lift!
