As you may have heard, the Washington Department of Corrections has announced it will close the Larch Corrections Center in Yacolt this October.

On Wednesday September 6th, Delegates to the Southwest Washington Central Labor Council passed a resolution urging Governor Jay Inslee to convince the state DOC to reverse its decision, or pause the decision until the Washington State Legislature can discuss alternatives to this closure in January.

Please join us in sending a message of support for LCC to the Governor and your legislators in Olympia. Please also take a few moments to sign and share Teamsters Local 117's petition calling on the DOC to keep Larch Corrections Center open.
